    We studied the topological defects and structural transitions of the nematic with a colloidal spherical particle with the normal anchoring on its surface.
    Three types of possible structures have been calculated:
    1. the structure with the weak distortions,
    2. the structure with the disclination loop and
    3. the structure with the point defect.
    In the case (1), We found the exact analytical solution for the director field. In the cases (2) and (3) we propose the effective trial function that is capable of describing the structure with the topological defects.
    We have also obtained the conditions for structural transition between those structures versus system parameters (anchoring energy and applied electric field).
