We have developed the kinetic model of the dye adsorption in liquid crystals.

The motion of dye molecules is considered to be diffusive in the potential field near the substrates. On the boundaries, the adsorption and desorption processes are described phenomenologically with coefficients that depend on the surface density of the adsorbed dyes. Light irradiation reduces the surface barrier and intensifies the adsorption and desorption processes.
